Meeting regarding Marjory Stoneman Douglas' house

With Marjory Stoneman Douglas' name in the news lately, it's only fitting that there is finally a meeting to discuss the future of her house on Stewart Avenue here in the Grove.

Glenn Terry explains it better in his blog here, but basically, Marjory wanted the state to make her cottage a public place. Currently the state is using it as sleeping quarters for a park ranger.

There is a meeting set up by local group "Marjory's Circle" with a state representative on Tuesday, March 13 from 5:30 to 8 pm at the Coconut Grove Sailing Club (2990 S. Bayshore Drive.

The goal is to convince the state into turning the house and grounds into a public space and museum.
